1989 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (R107) — A Truly Exceptional Example Please take the time to read the full advert of this remarkable Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, because this is not simply another R107. For me personally, this car has a genuine history and a story that stretches back almost two decades. I first purchased it in 2006 from a gentleman in Cobham, Surrey, who had owned it from new. Originally supplied by Puttocks of Guildford, the car had been used as his daily vehicle and was meticulously maintained throughout its early life by Tony Purslow Mercedes-Benz. Most significantly, from new until I purchased it in 2006, the car had accumulated an incredible 27 main-dealer service stamps. At the time, it had covered approximately 195,000 miles, yet was in astonishing condition. Any bodywork required during its earlier life had been carried out by Bell & Colvill Ltd. Several months after purchasing the car, I was approached by a local gentleman who wished to acquire it, and I regrettably sold it. He owned the car for approximately three years before a very good friend of mine purchased it and kept it for a further eight years. It then passed to another colleague of his, who owned it until 2024. I am delighted that the car has now returned to me and have the pleasure of finding a new owner. The current mileage stands at 214,800 miles, but this figure genuinely does not reflect the condition of the car. Approximately 195,000 miles were covered by its first owner, who clearly cherished and maintained it to an exceptionally high standard. Having owned many Mercedes-Benz R107s over the years, I can say with complete confidence that this example is not reflective of its mileage. It really needs to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated. Many lower-mileage examples can look impressive in photographs yet fail to live up to expectations in person. This car is very different — it presents beautifully and drives superbly. Finished in Arctic White, with Blue Leather interior (272) and a matching Blue Hood, this is a particularly desirable colour combination. The blue hood is in outstanding condition and is accompanied by its original factory hardtop. The blue leather interior is immaculate and features the desirable and rare centre armrest. The car comes with all keys, original book pack, stamped service books and extensive paperwork and history. I have known this particular car since 2006, and remarkably, it still presents much as it did when I first purchased it. This is not a car to be confused with other 300 SLs of a similar age and mileage. Its condition, provenance, history and driving experience make it an exceptionally rare opportunity. In my opinion, this is one of the finest 1989 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL R107s currently available at this price point, this must not be confused with other examples in this bracket.
